The Northborough Police and Fire Departments responded Monday afternoon when a vehicle crashed into a swimming pool at a local home.
On Monday, Aug. 17, at approximately 1:50 p.m., Northborough Police and Fire were called to a home on Franklin Circle for a report of a vehicle in a swimming pool.
First responders arrived to find a sedan fully submerged in a residential pool, and learned that the driver was able to get out of the vehicle on his own.
A subsequent investigation determined the driver was visiting someone when his brakes failed on a steep driveway. The driver avoided hitting the home, but crashed through a fence and into the pool.
There were no reported injuries.
