The Northborough Police Department offers a drug take back location for residents to safely disposed of unwanted prescription medications.
Residents can come to the Northborough Police station 24/7 to drop off unwanted, unused, or unneeded prescription medications. The department will safely dispose of these medications so they will never fall into the wrong hands.
The drop box is located in the department lobby. Needles and sharps are not accepted.
This program offers residents a safe way to dispose of addictive mediations. According to the 2019 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, in 2019 alone an estimated 9.7 million people misused prescription pain relievers, 4.9 million people misused prescription stimulants and 5.9 million people misused prescription tranquilizers or sedatives.
