The Northborough Police Department’s Persons-At-Risk Registration is a voluntary and confidential registry designed to help first responders better assist individuals who may be at increased risk during emergencies due to medical, cognitive, or behavioral conditions. This includes both children and adults living with autism, dementia, Alzheimer’s, developmental disabilities, mental health challenges, or other conditions that may impact communication, behavior, or safety.
By registering a loved one through this program, families and caregivers can provide vital information—such as a current photo, medical needs, emergency contacts, and calming strategies—that officers can quickly access to ensure a safe, informed, and compassionate response. This proactive approach helps reduce stress during encounters and improves outcomes for individuals who may be unable to effectively communicate or care for themselves in critical situations.
